Owen Munby

Project Manager

Before joining Base Structures, Owen began his career working for a small healthcare start-up as a manufacturing technician, building and testing prototypes in a fast-paced and hands-on environment. Working closely alongside project managers sparked an interest in construction and delivery management, particularly the problem-solving and adaptability needed to keep projects moving forward.

Owen moved into project management during the Covid period. Since then, he has become involved across a wide variety of projects, helping manage everything from planning and coordination through to client communication and delivery on site.

He holds an NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management and a CSCS Black Card, alongside a RICS Foundation qualification in Quantity Surveying. At Base, his role combines project management and sales support, alongside being an office IT specialist.

Some of the projects Owen has particularly enjoyed working on include the Printworks project, Montpelier School, the Colobus Monkey Enclosure and the Thurles Market Canopy. He enjoys the variety that comes with working in construction, whether that means coordinating work in schools, offices, public spaces or specialist environments.

What him most is the challenging and unpredictable nature of the industry. He enjoys problem-solving, adapting quickly when plans inevitably change and working with different teams to find practical solutions under pressure.

Outside of work, Owen spends much of his time renovating his house and taking on DIY projects, alongside spending time with family.
