Installation department returns to Manchester International Festival.

June, 2011

For the second year Base Structures team of professional fabric structure installers have been called upon to install the landmark conic structure on behalf of the Manchester International Festival (MIF) team.

This continues a growing relationship between MIF and the Bristol based fabric engineering company who also look after the Zaha Hadid touring ribbon structure on their behalf.

The two week Manchester Festival runs from 30th June to 17th July, attracting a full range of performance artists from Bjork through Damon Albarn (who will be premiering his new theatrical piece Dr Dee), to Johnny Vegas who will be performing his show from inside the Pavillion Structure.

Base Structures management of the fabric in addition to installing the temporary structure annually, includes de-rigging at the end of the season and then cleaning, maintaining and storing it through the winter so it is in the best condition possible for the start of every new festival.

MIF is just one client of many that we carry out this erection and maintenance service for. If you would like to discuss a similar annual service contract, please contact Andy Traynor Link
