Base Structures scoop two awards at the IFAI 2012 International Achievement Awards
8th November, 2012
The Industrial Fabrics Association International 2012 International Achievement Awards for design excellence with specialty fabrics took place at the IFAI Expo 2012, held in Boston, USA on November 7th 2012.
This prestigious competition provides recognition of the best products in the specialty fabrics market with entries judged by industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals who were selected for their knowledge in particular field of study or product area.
Base Structures won an Award of Excellence for the Campbell Park performance canopy, a standard structure that employs a distinctive saddle shaped canopy with removable rear and side walls to prevent vandalism. The steel work is also designed to easily support a full compliment of lighting equipment, ensuring a stunning show can be put on with a minimum of fuss. Built for The Parks Trust Milton Keynes earlier this year, it has so far proved to be a popular and successful addition to Campbell Park.
An Outstanding Achievement Award for Technical and Safety Products was awarded to Base Structures’ Triple Membrane Biogas Holders, an essential component for anaerobic digestion plants. Acting as a buffer storage system, the holder allows gas to be stored when the plant is producing a high rate of biogas and can then supplement the supply if productivity falls, ensuring a continuous, steady output. The design provides a competitively priced, reliable and quickly deployable solution to a growing renewable energy sector.
Jon Morris, Director and Head of Production commented “We are immensely proud to be recognized in this prestigious international award, for not one but two of our products. This is clear recognition of the quality and ingenuity of British design and manufacturing that is integral to Base Structures’ success, winning us work around the world.”
