Base Structures celebrate 10 year anniversary
December, 2011
Since being founded in 2001, tensile fabric specialist Base Structures has gone from strength to strength, building a strong reputation as a market leader through the successful completion of many landmark projects.
During the last decade notable achievements include Heathrow Terminal 5, Manchester International Festival, Eden Project and the Mound Stand at Lords Cricket Ground.
From humble beginnings with only three members of staff, Base Structures has grown significantly into an eminent company with a multi-million pound turnover and 40 employees, most recently winning a £1.2m contract to detail design, manufacture and install the O2 Roofwalk structure over the O2 Millenium Dome.
Continued success and growth necessitated a move into new premises in Bristol three years ago, providing an enviable range of facilities and manufacturing space that will enable Base to continue to grow into the future.
Not content with creating world class tensile structures for the last decade, Base has also continued to develop ground breaking environmental products. These include triple membrane Biogas Storage domes, an essential component in the Anaerobic Digestion process used by farmers to harness energy from organic waste. Other products include Saltsaver covers to protect stockpiles of gritting salt and the TEXO® framing system that can be used to both clad buildings with fabric and glaze roof structures with ETFE, a cheaper and lighter alternative to glass.
John Dalton, Managing Director of Base Structures commented:
“It is incredible how time flies when you’re enjoying yourself. Here’s to the next ten years being even more fun. Happy Birthday to Base!“.
