Zaha Hadid is one of the most extraordinary, innovative and creative designers to work with fabric. Each piece designed by her team is a head turning, award winning revelation. We have collaborated on a number of projects and each time our creativity in design and manufacture as well as the technical capabilities in the fabric are challenged to their very limits. The results are awe inspiring brilliance. Created as a solo performance space for the Manchester International Festival, this structure is a stunning representation of our work together.

A single continuous tensile fabric ribbon swirling like an expanded snail shell fills one of the main rooms in the Manchester Art Gallery. Its fluid form creating layered spaces to cocoon both the performers and audience. Engineered with painstaking precision, the fabric was worked with innovative spigot and fabric zip details to create graceful curves. Acrylic acoustic reflectors hidden within the depth of the frame deliver fine-tuned sound quality that would promise Bach would fill every inch of that room.
