We were proud to have been involved in this landmark project as part of which we were commissioned to design and build the departures tensile canopy scheme for Heathrow Terminal 5.
It comprises of over 4000sqm of PTFE tensile fabric canopies with several series of the twisted hypar arrangement on an architectural steel frame complete with bespoke lighting, and a stunning entrance canopy to the new Terminal 5 building. We designed, manufactured and installed all the fabric and associated fittings. We also installed the structural steel and lighting system throughout.
The installation was a challenging undertaking and had to be completed in plenty of time for the grand opening of the terminal in March 2008, its success made this an extremely satisfying project for all parties involved and the client is especially delighted to have this world class vision realised.
