The brief was to design, pattern and manufacture four pyramid roof canopies measuring 4.8 meters square and 1.5 meters high. This included the seam layout and the fixing to a steel frame.

We were originally contacted by Mark Ashton of Bedsteads because his original supplier had let him down. The fabric had already been chosen by the client so we carried out essential biaxial testing on it to see how the fabric behaved under load. We were also asked to carry out a detailed structural analysis on the steel structure that the roof canopies would cover. This was successfully completed by our Design Manager Evan Price.

The canopies were manufactured by our skilled sewing team and installed by the client who commented on the perfect fitting and the resulting smooth installation process.
